This body of work showcases sculptural forms created from rope, string and yarn that are inspired by the artist's natural environment.

Pamela draws on the repeated patterns and forms in nature. Most works are instinctive and developed in an organic way, using only a crochet hook.

About the artist

Pamela grew up in Tasmania and moved to Burrum Heads with her husband and fur children in 2020.  She has always been a creative person. Her grandmother taught her to knit and crochet at about six years of age and she has tried many creative outlets since then.

In 2019, Pamela graduated from the University of Tasmania, School of Fine Arts (Printmaking).  Pamela is drawn to nature for inspiration and loves the shapes, colours, repeated patterns and textures found there.  As a mixed media artist, she works across disciplines finding endless joy in experimenting and trying new techniques.

She has done many jobs in her life, but art has always called Pamela back. It is how she communicates and makes sense of the world. It gives her meaning and keeps her sane. She cannot, not make art.
